Sometimes you can take too long making your mind up over something.
You can do this, you can do that. You dilly, you dally. You delay, procrastinate, thumbtwiddle and pontificate. Fate must get really fed up with the human thought process. I think that’s why fate doesn’t like laminate flooring (it’s true). Like a child with ADD fate likes to pull the rug out from beneath you with only a moments notice, not cackling as it does, but placing bets with destiny to see how quickly you get up again afterwards – which direction you’ll turn when you do.
I’m not a pessimist, I’m a misanthrope.
When things depend solely on the actions of others then I usually expect things to go wrong. When fate gets bored with the amount of time it takes the average human to make up their mind over something and steps in, I never see it as a bad thing. It’s an opportunity. Your metaphorical front room has been turned upside down by the yanked out rug and opportunities are unearthed everywhere – forgotten half-chewed biros and lost pennies.
And there are so many opportunities for so many things right now.
There is not a rug left unturned in my house.

Cool bananas. Life is an amazing adventure.
