100 words | The Boy Who Could But Didn't

100 words

The sirens still howl past like banshees. Helicopters circle overhead like buzzards. Kings Cross and Woburn Place junction are like film sets. Scores of men walking down Euston Road with their huge video cameras and tripods are no longer an odd sight. The police are still everywhere. Streets remain sealed. The wrecked bus remains static for the forensic teams to continue their investigation, but the view of Tavistock Square is shielded by giant sheets suspended from the buildings on either side. Passers by stop and stare at the drapes, imagining the wreck beyond. Everyone looks like they’re waiting for something.
