You are in a position of change but blinded by (Queen of Wands?) a bitter sense of humour, probably because you are feeling like shite. (what card is position four?) In your past you had an image of what you wanted most but it hasn’t appeared by clapping and saying shazam, which contributes to the feeling like shite. However, the sun is in your future, light after dark, very positive things are afoot. The Ace of Wands means energy, so you’ll be fired up to complete or do something creative. Position 8 (Death?) is (loosely) how others see you - mourning an old idea pehaps, start of something new, alone (not ness lonely though), fave colour black perhaps?! Death card means new beginnings… maybe you recreate yourself and moods often (not like Dr Who though). Position 9 not sure what card that is… but it ends on Three of Cups, right? So that is a celebration of some kind, be it party, birthday, or as you had creative cards, could be something good is coming your way… It ends on happiness, anyway.
I hope you don’t mind me doing this, was a welcome distraction! Please delete this post if you want, probably talking a load of old waffle anyway :)
ni - The Hanged Chicken is now the new favourite title for the autobiography I will never write.
b - prettier than tea leaves, and more holistic too.
Jeremy - thank you old bean, I worry for me too. You never know, I might end up in Montreal in the not too distant future.
And Jayne, I’m really impressed - that’s pretty much as I read it. The only differences are probably the result of personal preferences in layout. I read The Sun as in my past, and it’s the Magician that’s in my future. This is of course a good thing. Position four for me is The Sun, but you probably mean either the Two of Cups (unconscious) or The Hanged Man (conscious). 8 is not Death but the 5 Cups, though I had exactly the same reading of it as you. It’s supported by position 9 which is the 6 Swords, which means the same thing - depression, despondency, doldrums. I looked on the outcome as more support than happiness, but it’s definitely related to my immediate problems.
Don’t mind at all - thanks for taking the time. It’s nice to know I’ve not been doing it all *completely* wrong these years!
Oh good, glad you liked! I used to do (amateur) tarot readings, but haven’t picked up the cards for years. Might have to re-discover them…
Yes, where the Magician is for me is Past (what I call position 5) and The Sun future (position 6). Yup again, position 4 for me is the Two of Cups - so I would read that as what drives you on creatively is that you love what you do, and (with Hanged Man) therefore get down that nothing seems to happen as quick as you would like. Oh right - position 8 (figure in black) is the 5 Cups - The Lord of Loss in Pleasure - fab name, huh? Yes, that can scan the same, and 6 Swords (for me position is Hopes and Fears), worry that your creativity won’t be enough to keep you self-sufficient perhaps? The Hope would be then be the opposite (and ain’t that the truth for us all!).
It’s Hopes and Fears for me too. I’ve always read it as a sort of "oh, by the way, be very careful of doing *this*…" card. Self-sufficiency re creativity is certainly on at the chapel at the moment, though my concerns were more immediate. I’d like to think it’s significant that there are three happy people in the outcome where there were only two affecting me subconsciously, but at the moment I can no longer see how that can happen. Then again, ‘oh, by the way, be very careful of being a six of swords.’ I didn’t ask a specific question, and it ended up very much a reading about support and environment, relating to what’s always been important to me.
I think you should definitely pick up and have a shuffle again. You evidently haven’t lost the knack at all and your interpretations have been pretty much spot on with my own.
The hanged chicken?
