The funniest thing i've read on a blog in ages. No, really, it's very funny. Made me laugh. Why does praise always sound sarcastic when it's typed? I'm typing it with a big laugh in my head and what I'm actually reading is Jo Brand going "hilarious. very funny" in a big old Jo Brand deadpan voice.

Anyway. I like it.

Impossible? Gosh. Why didn't anyone tell me this before I started my first novel?

The post was a little tongue in cheek, I admit. It was more an exercise in boredom than a genuine creative meeting.

Coming up with a marketable basic idea is the easiest part (although nowadays the difference between a marketable idea and a parody of a marketable idea is approximately nothing, as you demonstrate). Following it through in detail is much harder. Getting the people who might commission you to take any notice is well-nigh impossible.
